House Pictures

Here are some pictures of the house w/our furniture in it! We obviously still have blank walls, still lacking some furniture in the boys' rooms and living room, and all of the decorative touches. There obviously isn't a picture of our extra bedroom, master bedroom and master bathroom, but those are the last to be done! LOL It will all come together eventually. :) Once we finally have it together, we'll have a house party!

Excuse the crappy picture quality.

We've Moved!!!!

Well, we have officially moved and have a new address! I'm so glad that we progressively moved over the past 2 weeks. We moved all of our big furniture on Monday. We actually started staying at our new house last Friday, due to some leak outside our master bedroom window at our apartments. The water was coming in to our master bedroom and it was 5:30 on a Friday afternoon. We said forget it, and moved our bedroom over to the house so we could just start staying over here, instead of smelling mildew at the apartment.

Jason and I both took off this whole week and it has been nice. Most of the boxes are unpacked and we are slowly organizing everything. I did a lot of purging when packing and doing more purging while unpacking.

We've purchased a new dining room table and office desk. Once I find my camera and camera cord, I will upload some new pics of the house w/our stuff in it. No one ever lies when they say home owning is expensive. Everytime I think we are done with purchasing big ($$$) items, something else always comes up. For the most part, I think we are done for awhile.

To be continued....

New Applicances & House Updates

Here is a picture of our new dishwasher and fridge. I was very adament about wanting a dishwasher with a hidden control panel. Saturday night we spent, rather Jason spent pulling out the old, yucky white dishwasher and replacing it with our new stainless steel dishwasher. I love it! The fridge is great too! We will eventually replace the white microwave and the white oven.

We spent most of the weekend at the house. We went by Friday night to drop off the fridge and dishwasher. The previous owners were still there touching up nail holes and cleaning. It was nice to meet them. They were extremely nice people and they were very particular to leave the house in great condition. Saturday we spent cleaning up the flower beds, unpacking wedding gifts that we have had in storage, and cleaning. Sunday we made our first of many trips to Home Depot to purchase lawn equpiment. This is obviously Jason's forte, so I just pushed the cart. Monday, I stayed home from work b/c we were having some minor foundation repair done (paid by sellers), and I had to be home while they were there. Monday evening we made another trip to Home Depot to buy some paint (white) so we could repaint the kitchen pantry. We got one coat done and will have to do another coat sometime this week. Jason worked on the backyard a little. It had a 3ft X 3ft hole where a sand box that went with a swing set was. Short/Long term plan is to put in a pool. Hopefully it will be sooner than later, as in maybe by next summer.

We plan on having everything excpet the large furniture moved over to the house before next Monday. Next Monday, we will move everything else over and spend our first night in the new house.

New Bedding

Here is the bedding we purchased for the boys. They got to pick it out (with our discretion). LOL! We tried to pick sets that would work with the current paint colors in their rooms. Colby's room is a goldish - yellow color, and Tristen's room is a calm blue color.

Our New House!

We are officially homeowners! We won't actually get the keys until Saturday b/c we did a lease back to the sellers through Saturday. So, although we closed, it won't seem real until we actually get the keys! We aren't acutally moving Memorial Day. Logistically, with the boys, school, and baseball games/tournaments, this was the most convenient day to move. Closing was so easy and painless. It literally took MAYBE 45 minutes. We were in and out of there so quickly!

Funny story about our final walk-thru on Tuesday. The sellers have a cat and well the cat was just hanging out near the front door (inside). As we were trying to leave, the cat kept trying to get out. Our realtor went out first as Jason tried to hold the cat. By the time Jason and I were trying to get out the door, the cat darted out the door and ran down the storm drain in the street. We were freaking out! Jason could see the cat, but it wasn't coming back. Our realtor called the seller's realtor to let him know what happened. He did say that the cat sometimes goes outside. I was still worried and didn't want to just leave. Finally, we saw the cat in the neighbor's yard and I called it. He came to me and I picked him up. He started squirming and Jason came and tried to take him from me. The cat almost got away again, but we successfully returned the cat back inside the house! WHEW! It was funny in the end, and truthfully the owners should've had the cat put up, so something like this wouldn't happen.

All I have are the pictures that were on the MLS listing. I will post updated pictures once we take some. We've already purchased new living room furniture and are in the process of selling some of the other furniture we have currently!

10 Years.....

My 10 year high school reunion is coming up. Well, actually it is the 80th All-School Reunion for my school. For those who don't know, I grew up in an itty-bitty town called Wink, TX. I graduated with a class of 31 people. Everyone knew everyone and knew everything about each other. There are days that I miss things about my hometown, but then I always think back to the days when I would always say, 'I can't wait to get out of here!' I would love for our kids to go to a school like I went to, but I don't think that will ever happen.

I'm still debating whether or not we will make it out to Wink for the reunion. Because it is an All-School Reunion, I'm sure there will be tons of people there that it would be great to catch up with. Here is the kicker - it is the same weekend as our 1 year anniversary. We don't have anything else planned, and Jason said he would go if I really wanted to go. The drive SUCKS as it is about a 5 1/2 hour drive. I'd love to take the boys out to Wink to show them where I grew up, but I'm sure they would be bored within a matter of an hour or so. The reunion is taking place the same weekend as the Roy Orbison festival, so there will be a few things going on, but I'm not sure how occupied it would keep them.

Anyways, I can't believe I graduated from high school 10 years ago! It doesn't seem like it has been that long ago. My Senior year was by far the best and somedays I wish I could go back and re-live those days! I'll have to find a Senior Picture and post it here!
