We had a pretty busy weekend! Jason has softball on Friday night. Colby and Tristen were both scheduled to have baseball games on Saturday. We got up early and Jason and Colby left for his game at about 745am. They got their only to find out the game had been canceled due to the previous night's rain. The fields dried up and were prepped for Tristen's game. They played a hard fought game, but lost by 1.
I took some time for 'me' and went and got my hair cut and highlighted. I love it! I was in such dire need of a hair cut and some color.
After the Tristen's game, they had a birthday party for a friend at Woodward Skate Park. It is a skate park for skateboards, rollerblades and scooters. They LOVE this place. I enjoy it b/c it is in the Grapevine Mills Mall, so I can drop them off and then shop for two hours, which is exactly what I did. It wasn't a very successful shopping trip though, as I only bought one shirt! :(
Saturday night, one of Jason's co-worker's, Hoan, was having a get together at his house in Garland. Jason played golf all day, so he got home around 745 and we headed out the door. The kids went with us and had a blast. We had a good time hanging out and with good friends. The boys always enjoy going with us to 'adult' parties. Mid-way through the party, one of Jason's other co-workers showed up with his wife. Well, his wife accidentally dropped her phone when getting out of the car and it fell right down the drainage gutter. So.....the guys and me (with camera in hand) head out to see if we can retrieve the phone. We could all see the phone and knew that we could eventually get it. The guys tried for about 10 minutes to get the manhole cover off b/c a few of the guys insisted that it wasn't locked and that they could get it off. Well, they were wrong...it was locked. So, finally someone mentions DUCK TAPE. Long story short, and about after 20 minutes of trying to get the phone. Some good ole duck tape and a long pole, we were able to retrieve the phone. It was quite amusing here are some pictures illustrating the scene.
Sunday....Jason had softball again, but the boys and I slept instead of going to watch him. His Sunday games start at 845. He has two of them and I was just exhausted and needed to get the house picked up. It was nice to sleep in. After Jason got home, he and I went and looked at 6 houses w/our Realtor. We liked two of them and are going to continue looking. It is exciting to finally get the process started! After house hunting, I went over to a friend's house to help her with wedding stuff and Jason took Colby to baseball practice.
It has been a whirlwind of a weekend, and I can only predict that the upcoming weekends are going to be the same now that baseball has started, along with the house hunting.

Well...
I could go back and try to remember the past events over the previous 6 weeks that have passed, but that would take entirely too much time. Although much of the next 8 weeks will be consumed with mainly baseball and softball, hopefully I will do a better job of keeping this up to date. We just got the boys baseball schedules and for whatever reason this season they have quite a few games that overlap and are at different fields! Last year we only experienced this with one game.
I will update with some pictures from the past 6 weeks this evening.

Spring Break
Spring Break for the boys has come and gone. They spent 6 days at their mom's house. They came back to us on Thursday night, but ended up going to spend the night with their cousins that night. My brother Sam and his wife Annette came in town Friday to celebrate their anniversary and to hang out with the rest of us. Saturday we all got together at Bear and Haylee's house and cooked out. All of the guys played basketball and football. After dinner, all but a few of us girls, went and played sand volleyball. Mind you it was about 50 degrees outside and it was freezing. Needless to say, the boys had a blast. They loved playing with the adults and having a 'party' (as they would call it) with the adults. Jason and I both took off Monday to spend with the boys. They had an extra day added to their spring break for bad weather. We took them to the skateboard park in Grapevine Mills Mall. They had a blast.

Colby's Birthday Party
Colby celebrated his birthday w/a skate party. His actual birthday is on the 13th, but we had his party early to accommodate everyone's hectic schedules. He received lots of great presents and said, 'This was the best birthday EVER!' Thank you to everyone who came. Here are a few pics from the party.

Mardi Gras 2008
Although today is Fat Tuesday, we won't be celebrating! Perhaps we will celebrate at home! LOL! We went to Shreveport for our annual Mardi Gras trip this past weekend. We left town on Friday and returned on Sunday in time for the Super Bowl. The weather this year was great! Last year it was a bit on the chilly side. This year we had a 65 degree sunny day. We decided this year to donate most of our beads to Aunt Bonnie so she could take them to the elderly at nursing homes. We kept a few 'special' beads and we came home with lots of cups and other goodies. Can't wait until next year!
